I'll bet you have heard the advice, "Don't apply for jobs if you don't meet 100% of the qualifications."
But I'm here to tell you that this is wrong. And not applying because you are missing one or two qualifications can cost you a job offer worth thousands of dollars.
Let’s take a closer look at what you should do in this instance.
The fact is that while some companies want 100% matches for all qualifications, most just want to know that you can do the job and will be a good fit in their team/company culture. They don't operate with the mindset of, "We better never hire this person unless they have 100% of our exact requirements." Instead, they say, "If they are good enough for 80% of our qualifications and wants the job enough to go get that extra 20% on their own time, then they will be a great hire."

So you might ask…Why Is This Myth So Common?
For decades, organizations have been trying to predict who will do best at their company by using paper job applications to ask candidates to check all the qualifications they meet. This results in a hiring process that is mostly based on what applicants can't do instead of what they can do. So over time, organizations have become conditioned to think about their 100% match hiring policies as though it's common sense.
Yet the fact remains: you can't predict how well you'll do at a job and company until you actually get there and try it. And if the employer is only looking for 80% or more of their qualifications in candidates, then not applying because you don't meet 100% means that you won't even be considered—even if they would have hired you!
So, my advice.. APPLY! You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
