Do not do this before an interview... but here is how to handle it if you do

By Ilene Rein, Executive Recruiter and Job Search Strategist

I was going to take a video break because of my silliness in not using sunscreen on the beach over the weekend... but let's talk about the problem that may arise when looking for work.

What should you do if you have an interview coming up but were too silly to put sunscreen on?

There are a few things that you can do.

The most important thing is not to panic and cancel your interview! You want this opportunity, so don't give up yet.

Humor is the best way to take any situation in stride. Whether you are burned by sunlight or have had a rough day at work, humor can help us see our lives as they really are and appreciate what's happening around us more than ever before!

I recommend injecting some witty remark about how awful these things happen so that others know not only do I understand but also find their own sense of humor too – after all we're human beings here with flaws just waiting for an opportunity like this one.

Also, start taking care of your skin right away. This means using moisturizer to keep it hydrated and healthy-looking; drinking lots of water will help you feel better inside as well because when we're thirsty our body releases chemicals that make us hungry!

Try to stay away from makeup for a few days until your skin returns to its natural color. Do not try to cover up large areas with concealer. It will only look worse.

By following these tips, you can make sure that you look your best for your interview.

And another helpful hint, next time leave your sunscreen in your beach bag so it's always there when you need it. I really regret not doing so!
